Position Overview
We are seeking a versatile Full-Stack Engineer & Technical Product Owner to take full ownership of our newly implemented, purpose-built technology platform.
This role will transition the platform from the external implementation team to in-house engineering. You will maintain and expand our custom patient-facing applications, manage deeply integrated SaaS/EHR tools, oversee our clinical data pipeline, and serve as the technical bridge between our operations, clinical, and marketing teams.
Key Responsibilities
1. Platform Maintenance & Full-Stack Development
- Codebase Ownership: Maintain and develop features for the patient-facing platform, including the registration/order flow and authenticated patient portal.
- Infrastructure-as-Code & CI/CD: Manage cloud environments using Terraform on GCP (Cloud Run, Cloud SQL) via GitHub Actions.
- Security & Compliance: Maintain jscreen's HIPAA security baseline in coordination with our compliance automation tools (e.g., Sprinto, Drata, or Vanta). Ensure strict PHI minimization across marketing channels.
2. Third-Party Integration & Ecosystem Management
- EHR & Clinical Tooling: Manage configurations and APIs for Canvas EHR and embedded Finch Genetics workflows (pedigrees, risk calculations, and relationship states).
- Patient Journey Integrations: Maintain seamlessly connected APIs for laboratory partners (PhyTest), kit shipping providers, Stripe (payments), Knock (notification shells), Doxy.me (telehealth), and HubSpot (Marketing).
3. Data Engineering & Analytics
- Data Warehouse Management: Maintain automated BigQuery pipelines utilizing dbt to replicate data from HubSpot, PostHog, Canvas EHR, and legacy datasets.
- Product Analytics & Attribution: Manage PostHog for product events, checkout funnels, and feature flags , alongside StapeOurs Privacy for ad-platform attribution.
- Reverse ETL & Business Intelligence: Ensure daily reverse ETL flows function correctly to update HubSpot metadata (CLV tiers) and offline ad conversions. Maintain Looker Studio dashboards tracking operational profit and conversion metrics.
4. Clinical & Product Collaboration
- Clinical/Operational Support: Act as the technical partner to our Genetic Counselors and Customer Support teams, automating templates and testing workflows.
- Cross-Functional Roadmap: Work with jscreen leadership and the Growth/Content teams to prioritize new features, coordinate copy adjustments , and assess AI-native data capabilities (e.g., LLM/triage agents).
5. Marketing Data Ops
- Value-Based Bidding Enablement: Implement and maintain the first-party data flows that feed online and offline conversion data (with CLV tiers and contribution margin) into Google Ads and Meta to support value-based bidding, per requirements defined by Marketing and the paid media agency.
- CLV & Contribution Margin Pipeline: Build the data pipeline that captures customer-level CLV, CLV tiers, and contribution margin in HubSpot, sourcing reimbursement and revenue data in coordination with Finance and Billing/RCM. (Marketing defines the model logic; this role builds and maintains the plumbing.)
- Full-Funnel Marketing Dashboard: Extend Google DataStudio reporting to give Marketing full-funnel visibility from first click through checkout, billing, and kit return, surfacing the paid media KPIs Marketing specifies (ROAS, profit per customer, CLV by channel, customer segmentation/demographics). DataStudio reporting will pull from BigQuery, which combines data from PostHog, Stape, and clinical software
- Reimbursement Feedback Loop: Build the automated loop that pulls reimbursement outcomes from PhyTest back into HubSpot on a recurring cadence, matched by order_id, so paid media optimization runs on actual profit rather than proxy values.
- Paid Media Agency Support: Serve as the technical point of contact for the paid media agency on tracking, conversion uploads, and data feedback loops once the Stape/Post-Hog server-side tracking is live, confirming accuracy and resolving discrepancies.
- Marketing Audience Segmentation: Build and maintain the HubSpot audience segments Marketing requests (e.g., High CLV, upsell, lapsed high value) for paid media, email, and SMS targeting, and pipe the data the marketing manager needs to run lifecycle programs.
- CRO & Funnel Diagnosis: Partner with Marketing to instrument the checkout and registration funnel, surface drop-off and conversion-rate issues in the data, and provide the measurement needed to test and prioritize fixes.
Required Qualifications
- Experience: 5+ years of full-stack software development experience, ideally within the digital health, healthtech, or medical tech sectors.
- Cloud & Modern DevOps: Proven experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Terraform, and GitHub Actions CI/CD pipelines.
- API & Integration Expertise: Deep experience building, consuming, and troubleshooting REST/GraphQL APIs and handling webhooks. Experience with healthcare interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR) is a major plus.
- Data Stack Proficiency: Strong SQL skills and experience managing data pipelines into warehouse environments like BigQuery (experience with dbt is highly preferred).
- Regulatory Knowledge: Solid understanding of HIPAA compliance, managing Protected Health Information (PHI), and the necessity of executing Business Associate Agreements (BAAs).
Preferred Capabilities
- Familiarity with modern EHR software architectures (specifically Canvas EHR) and genetic counseling platforms (Finch Genetics).
- Experience with product analytics frameworks (PostHog, Segment) and modern CRM architectures (HubSpot custom objects).
- Strong communication skills—the ability to act as a "Technical Product Owner," self-managing tasks and translating technical data realities to clinical operators or non-technical growth leads.
- A passion for jscreen’s non-profit health mission.
Why Choose This Role?
This is a unique opportunity to own a modern, highly optimized tech stack built on clean architecture guidelines from day one. Instead of chasing technical debt, you will step into an organized ecosystem built by a premium consultancy,. You will have the technical freedom to scale the application into AI-assisted reporting and predictive customer modeling as jscreen grows.
